Introduction to Machine Quilting

Six week course – Machine Quilting

Tuesdays 10am – noon, starting 9th January 2018

at L&M Nutt Sewing Machine Shop, 418 Chester Road, Sutton Coldfield,
Birmingham B73 5BS

If you already make quilts, but would like to extend your quilting skills, this six week course is where you will learn how to design patterns and use your evenfeed/walking foot and your embroidery/darning foot to add texture to your work.

Machine Quilting

You will need to bring:

  • paper, pencil, masking tape and a ruler;
  • Four 18 inch square quilt sandwiches – one for each week, plain fabric on top, a layer of wadding and a backing fabric, either pin basted or spray glue basted (don’t worry about this we will be covering it in the first class), and both a co-ordinating and a contrasting thread, and spare bobbins.

Sewing machines are available to use in class and with a maximum of 8 students, spaces are limited, so booking is essential!

A £50 deposit is required and will secure your place. Full balance payable by the first class.
